The School of Economics at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is a leading hub for economic studies, fostering a deep understanding of economic principles, theories, and real-world applications. It offers a robust curriculum that explores key areas of economics, including macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, and developmental economics. Programme Outcome

Programme Outcomes (POs): Four-Year Bachelor Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) in Economics:

PO-1: Economic Literacy: Develop a strong foundational understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and basic quantitative methods to analyze economic issues at the individual, national, and global levels.

PO-2: Analytical Skills: Gain the ability to interpret economic data and trends using statistical tools and economic reasoning, fostering informed decision-making.

PO-3: Policy Awareness: Understand the role of government policies, institutions, and international organizations in shaping economic outcomes and development.

PO-4: Critical Thinking: Enhance the capacity to critically assess economic arguments, question assumptions, and evaluate policy alternatives.

PO-5: Communication and Presentation: Build effective oral and written communication skills to articulate economic concepts and arguments clearly and persuasively.

PO-6: Research Orientation: Develop basic research skills, including literature review, data collection, and analysis, to address contemporary economic issues.
