Mr. Prince Singh conferred with the Best Paper Award at the ICSSR-Sponsored National Conference at Akal University, Bathinda, Punjab

Mr. Prince Singh, Research Scholar, School of Economics, SMVDU, participated in the Two-Day National Conference on “Growth Potential after GST Reforms: Sectoral Analysis”, organized by the Department of Economics, Akal University, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, held on 10th–11th September 2026. During the conference, Mr. Singh presented his research paper entitled “Association Between GST and Trade: Evidence from Indian States.” The research paper was co-authored with his Ph.D. supervisor, Dr. Pabitra Kumar Jena, Associate Professor. The study examined the relationship between Goods and Services Tax (GST) and trade across Indian states, offering empirical insights into the impact of GST reforms on trade dynamics across states.

The presentation received appreciation from the academic community for its empirical approach and policy relevance. Adding to his academic achievements, Mr. Singh received the Best Paper Award for his research at the conference. The conference brought together eminent academicians, researchers, scholars, and experts from various parts of the country and outside the country to deliberate upon the growth potential and sectoral implications of GST reforms. The event provided an important platform for researchers to present their findings, exchange ideas, and discuss emerging issues related to taxation, trade, economic growth, and sectoral development in the post-GST era.
