An Industrial visit was organized for the students of 3rd-year Electrical Engineering (EE), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, (SMVDU) on 08 June 2022 to Baglihar Hydro Electric Power Plant, Chandrakote, Ramban. The visit turned out to be intensely informative and enriching. The visit was organized under the able guidance of Dr. Manish Sabraj, Head, EE, SMVDU, and the faculty Dr. Gyanesh Singh, Mr. Gaurav Kumar, and Ms. Pooja Sharma.At BHEP, everyone was guided to the powerhouse complex wherein an enthralling interactive session along with a briefing on the machines was given. The session turned out to be absolutely fun as well as a journey through the practical knowledge and technology behind hydropower plants –its advantages over other generations, the generation, controlling and the insulation scheme, etc. The session was followed by a brisk question-answer round. Throughout the session, the students were guided and briefed by Mr. Sanjay Bhagat, XEN, BHEP.
