About the Initiative
The Centre for Innovation, Emerging Skills & Entrepreneurship Development (CIESED) of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is offering skill-oriented Certificate & Diploma programmes aligned with the Skill India Mission, Govt. of India, to undergraduate and diploma-holder aspirants in the upcoming session 2026–27.
The initiative aims to equip youth with the focused practical skills and knowledge demanded by industry — ensuring their earnings either by being self-employed or employed, and thereby contributing effectively to the economy of the country.
These programmes consist of majorly industry-collaborated on-job trainings, projects, internships, practicals, labs and field visits, duly supported with related theory. After successful completion, aspirants may either set up their own entrepreneurial start-up or avail the facilitated placements in the emerging sectors.

Certification & Exit Options
Every programme runs for one year (two semesters) with two structured exit points:
Exit-1
Certificate — After 6 Months
On completing the first semester, candidates receive a Certificate in the up-skilling programme title, plus a 15-working-day industry/firm internship or project.
Exit-2
One-Year Diploma — After 1 Year
On completing both semesters, candidates receive a One-Year Diploma in the programme title, plus a one-month industry/firm internship or project.
Programme Modalities
Regular Mode
Up-skilling programmes run in regular mode during the University working schedule.
Duration & Exits
One year (two semesters), with the option of Exit-1 after six months (first semester) or Exit-2 after one year (two semesters).
Certification
A Certificate in the up-skilling programme title at Exit-1, or a One-Year Diploma in the programme title at Exit-2.
Intake
Each programme admits 30 candidates — 15 for Bachelor’s degree holders and 15 for 3-year diploma holders — through a merit list based on grades in the respective eligibility criteria.
Internship / Project
15 working days of industry/firm internship or project at Exit-1, and / or one month of industry/firm internship or project at Exit-2.
Entrepreneurship & Placement
Each programme provides facilitated entrepreneurship / placement support to candidates with calibre.

A candidate must have passed a 3-year Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised Institution / University, in the streams specified for each programme.

Smart Real Estate & Site Management
3-year Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in any stream with Commerce / Economics / Mathematics as a subject at the 10th or 12th standard.
FSM
Fintech Services Management
3-year Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in any stream, preferably Management / Business.

Admission is through a merit list based on grades in the respective eligibility criteria. A separate merit list is prepared for Diploma applicants and for Graduation applicants, based on their respective grades.

Fee Refund Policy
100% fee refund in case of cancellation of admission within one month after the Official Admission Offer Date. Thereafter, no refund of fees is applicable.

Desiring candidates will be facilitated with support for an Education Loan as per the University’s MoUs with J&K Bank and Punjab National Bank (PNB).

Selection Process
- Eligibility of the applications received is evaluated on the basis of submitted documents.
- A merit list is prepared separately for Diploma and Graduation applicants, based on Diploma or Graduation grades respectively.
- Eligible students, as per the declared Final Merit List / Wait List, are invited to appear for the programme counselling / admission session.
Seat Confirmation Process
- Provisional Merit List & seat allotment is declared on 28 July 2026.
- Choose any one preference from the following on the admission portal for confirming the seat allotment:

- Submit your preference within 5 days of allotment publication.
- The Final Merit List is declared on 3 August 2026.
- A payment link is generated with the merit list; your seat is provisionally confirmed only after successful payment of the tuition fees.
- Report to campus on 3 – 7 August 2026 for fee & document verification.
- On successful verification, admission is officially confirmed, registered with CIESED, and the admission letter is issued after due diligence.
Important Notes
- Candidates allotted their first preference can only opt for Accepted — no upgradation is allowed.
- Candidates allotted a second, third or other program preferences may opt for any one out of Accepted / Accepted & Upgrade / Not Accepted & Upgrade / Not Accepted choices to confirm the seat on the admission portal after declaration of the provisional merit list.
- Non-payment of fees, absence during document verification, or invalid documents will result in cancellation of the seat.
They are skill-oriented Certificate & Diploma programmes offered by the CIESED at SMVDU for session 2026–27, aligned with the Skill India Mission, Govt. of India. They focus on industry-collaborated training, projects, internships and field exposure.
Each programme is one year (two semesters) and runs in regular mode. Exit-1 is after six months (first semester) and Exit-2 is after one year (two semesters).
Candidates who exit at Exit-1 receive a Certificate in the up-skilling programme title. Candidates who complete the full year (Exit-2) receive a One-Year Diploma in the programme title.
