Katra, Jammu & Kashmir – Ar. Vinod Kumar, Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture & Landscape Design, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), recently presented his research on smart cities at the prestigious conference “Smart Sustainable Cities 2025: Pioneering Novel Frontiers for Green Urban Living.”
The conference, organized virtually by MDPI, one of the largest publishers of scientific journals, brought together esteemed thought leaders, researchers, and professionals from around the world, including Erasmus University, Rotterdam; State University of New York; University of Strathclyde, UK; Florida International University; and University of Salerno, Italy, among others.
Ar. Vinod Kumar’s research paper, “Place-Making and City Boosterism with Metro Rail in Indian Metro Cities from a Smart City Perspective,” explores the transformative impact of metro rail systems on urban environments in India. The study highlights the role of metro infrastructure in fostering place-making, promoting city boosterism, and aligning with the broader goals of the Smart City initiative.
