Robotics & AI Team Secures Second Position at Raksha AI Hackathon

Students of the B.Tech. Robotics and Artificial Intelligence program at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) secured Second Position at Raksha AI, a hackathon organized by the School of Computer Science and Engineering to promote the development of Artificial Intelligence-based solutions for defense applications.

The achievement was led by the team that developed “Mulyankan AI,” an intelligent tender evaluation system designed to support defense authorities in the efficient assessment and comparison of vendor proposals. The system leverages Artificial Intelligence to analyze large volumes of tender data, thereby enhancing transparency, accuracy, and decision-making efficiency in procurement processes. The project was highly appreciated by the evaluation panel for its relevance, technical rigor, and practical applicability.

In addition, another team from the program presented “Vichaar,” an AI-based intelligence analysis platform that enables users to retrieve and interpret information from extensive military documents and social media datasets using natural language queries. The solution demonstrates the potential of AI in improving information access and supporting intelligence operations.

The performance of both teams was well received by the judges and faculty members, reflecting the students’ strong technical foundation and innovative approach to solving real-world problems. Dr. Ankush Raina, Coordinator of the B.Tech. Robotics and Artificial Intelligence program, expressed satisfaction with the students’ achievement and appreciated their efforts. Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Head, School of Mechanical Engineering (SoME), also commended the students for their innovative approach and encouraged them to keep working on meaningful technological solutions. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, congratulated the students for their active participation and motivated them to continue striving for excellence in innovation and research.

Participation in Raksha AI provided valuable exposure to students in the application of Artificial Intelligence within critical domains such as defense and intelligence systems, further strengthening their practical understanding and interdisciplinary skills.
