NSS SMVDU Organized a session to express gratitute towards grandparents

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized a heartwarming event titled “Grateful Hearts, Loving Hands”to honor the invaluable role of grandparents in students’ lives. 
As part of the event, students were invited to create personalized *gratitude cards for their grandparents*, expressing love, appreciation, and cherished memories. The activity not only encouraged creativity but also fostered a deep sense of emotional connection and reflection among the participants.In addition to the card-making session, students shared their *favorite memories with their grandparents*, turning the event into a touching celebration of family bonds. Stories ranged from simple bedtime tales to life-changing lessons learned from the elderly, evoking both laughter and tears in the room.Speaking about the initiative, Kriti Mahajan and Abikash Gupta came up with this idea to help students recognize the efforts done by grandparents. NSS Programme coordinator Dr. Rajiv Kumar expressed joy over the overwhelming participation, saying, *“This initiative was aimed at instilling gratitude in young minds and reminding them of the importance of family values and intergenerational bonds.”The event concluded on a warm and emotional note, with students promising to stay more connected with their grandparents and cherish every moment spent with them. Our other volunteers Abhishek Sah,Laxman singh ,Piyush Soni, Arpit Raj and various other volunteers also helped in coordinating the event.
