The Constitution of India was partially implemented on 26th Nov. 1949. The Articles 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 60, 324, 366, 367, 379, 380, 388, 391, 392, 393, and 394 of the Constitution came into force on that day, and the remaining articles became effective from 26th January 1950.
The Government of India announced 26th November as the Constitution Day of India in 2015. Since then the day is commemorated and is taken to be an opportunity to collectively engage in creating awareness regarding the constitutional provisions among ourselves.
Two events were organized on 26th Nov. 2020 to mark the celebration at SMVDU:
1. The Preamble of the Constitution of India was read by the members of faculty and staff along with students at 11:00AM. It was organized online. The YouTube link for the reading session is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7lRkufXWEo&feature=youtu.be
2. A Students’ Webinar on “The Constitution of India” was organized during 16:00 – 18:00 on 26th Nov. 2020. The inaugural speech was delivered by Prof. Ashok Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Sciences.

Dr. Anil Tewari and Dr. Amitabh Dwivedi from the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and some students including Saguna Gupta (18bec051), Anisha Singh (20mmb012) and Ankush Tickoo (20mmb013) presented their ideas. The presentations were followed by discussion.
