School of Physics was established in the year 2005-2006 as School of Applied Physics & Mathematics. However, in 2009, it evolved as a separate full-fledged School. It is a research and teaching powerhouse dedicated to shaping the future by pushing the boundaries of knowledge in the classroom, laboratory, and field. Physics is the most fundamental of the sciences. Through, exceptional teaching, learning, and research experiences, we competitively position our students, staff, and faculty for current and future success. Physics is about fundamental understanding of the matter and interactions that we observe in nature, and relies on the language of mathematics for both development and communication. A major in Physics teaches us how to apply our knowledge of fundamental principles in a range of contexts. Applications of the principles of physics are everywhere: transistors, computers, optical fibres, quantum computing. Today, we are looking at the fabrication of nano-scale smart materials and alternative energy sources.
The objective of the School is to pursue research besides offering courses to the Under Graduate and Post Graduate students in Science.
