Students of the third year of the School of Civil Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University visited 900MW Baglihar Hydro Electric Project, Ramban.There was a total of sixty students accompanied by three faculties Dr V. K. Dogra (HOD, SoCE), Shri Ankur(Assistant Professor, SoCE) and Shri Gautam Narula (Assistant Professor, SoCE).
Shri Jitendra Kumar Sharma (Executive Engineer) at Baglihar Hydro Electric Project coordinated the visit and the permissions related to the educational visit. The students visited the powerhouse and learned about the operation and maintenance of the Hydro-Electric project.The students were made familiar with the electrical, mechanical, software and civil components of the Hydro-Electric projects. The trip was successful as it helped students to learn beyond the boundaries of books.
