SMVDU Katra, 26 January 2021. With the flag hoisting ceremony followed up by singing the national anthem, the 72nd Republic Day was celebrated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. Padam Shri Prof. RK Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, unfurled the national flag, and addressed a large gathering comprising research students, faculty members, and staff, and security personnel.The children of the faculty members also witnessed the celebrations. Prof. Sinha emphasized that the Constitution of India is one of the finest texts which provides proper guidelines regarding duties and responsibilities of a citizen, and everyone should follow them so that they may help improve the environment in and around their working spaces.
Further, Prof. Sinha emphasized that the university has achieved a niche among the top-class universities in a nascent period of 16 years, and it is the responsibility of everyone in the university to make it better each day. Also, he encouraged the faculty members to conduct productive research, and urged them to inculcate the values among students. The students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University prepared an online/recorded event to lift up the cultural spirits of the university under the guidance of the Board of Cultural Activities and DSW, which were performed in the Matrika Auditorium, while maintaining social distancing.
