Ms. Vishali (Entry No. 24MBT018), M.Sc. final year student from School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, represented the University at the impressiveInternational Conference on Recent Advances in Plant and Environmental Sciences, held at Guru Nanak Dev University on 25thAugust 2025.
Ms. Vishali presented her work as a poster titled “Hydroponics as a Sustainable Biotechnological Approach for Enhanced Crop Productivity”. Her presentation emphasized hydroponics as an innovative and sustainable alternative to conventional agriculture, highlighting its role in water conservation, nutrient-use efficiency, reduced soil dependency, and enhanced crop productivity under controlled environmental conditions. The poster also discussed different hydroponic systems and their potential in addressing global food security challenges amid climate change and resource limitations.
Ms. Vishali is currently working on her M.Sc. dissertation entitled “Regeneration of Nodal Explants of Blueberry and Development of a Hydroponic System for its clonal propagation”. Her research focuses on developing an optimized in vitro regeneration protocol for blueberry plant and integrating hydroponic systems to enhance large-scale micropropagation efficiency. The study aims to combine plant tissue culture techniques with sustainable soilless cultivation methods for improved propagation of economically important horticultural crops.
Ms. Vishali expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her supervisorProf. Sharada M.Potukuchifor her constant guidance and support. She also acknowledged the encouragement and support provided by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pragati Kumar, and the University administration for facilitating her participation in the International Conference.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University congratulates Ms. Vishali on her academic representation and wishes her continued success in her research pursuits.
