Smart Solutions Exhibition 2.0 held at SMVDU

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized Smart Solutions Exhibition 2.0 as part of its University Annual Festival, providing a vibrant platform for students to showcase innovative ideas and technological solutions. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, who served as the Chief Guest for the occasion. The exhibition was further graced by Sh. Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), who attended as the Guest of Honour. Sh. Alok Kumar Maurya, Additional CEO of SMVDSB, was also present during the exhibition and interacted with the participating teams.

The exhibition featured more than 70 innovative stalls, where students presented their work under two major categories: Project Display and Idea Presentation (Deliver a Talk). Participants demonstrated creative and practical solutions addressing contemporary challenges across multiple domains of science, engineering, and technology.

The event witnessed participation from reputed institutions including the University of Jammu, Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu, Central University of Jammu, Cluster University of Jammu, Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu. A total of 114 entries were received from institutions within and outside the region, including GLA University Mathura, Chandigarh University, and Mohali-based institutions, reflecting the growing reach and impact of the exhibition.

Within SMVDU, enthusiastic participation was observed from multiple academic schools including the School of Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture & Landscape Design, B. Design, Robotics & AI, Design Your Degree, Management, Biotechnology, Physics, and Mathematics & Computing programme, adding a diverse and interdisciplinary flavour to the exhibition. Young innovators from schools such as Heritage School Jammu and Activity Public School Jammu also participated enthusiastically.

Under the Project Display category, the first position was secured by the team “The Vision: A Mirror That Cares” from Central University of Jammu. The team comprised Utkarsh Mishra, Prince Roy, Aryan Verma, and Rahul Upadhyay. The second position was awarded to “AubhavX” from University of Jammu, represented by Diya Rani, Vidhita Arora, Kashvi Vaid, and Paridhi Mahajan. The third position went to “Project Aegis” from Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu, with team members Sahil Sharma, Mankirit Kour, Harsh Vardhan, and Lakshya Mishra.

In the Deliver a Talk (Idea Presentation) category, the first position was secured by “Sentinels” from Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu, represented by Trish, Prashita Kalsotra, Sidhant Verma, and Tankirit Singh. The second position was awarded to “Srijana” from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, with team members Shatakshi and Sanjita. The third position was secured by “Nexora” from Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, represented by Saksham Gupta and Saransh Sharma.

Dr. Sunanda Gupta, Chairperson of the organising committee, expressed satisfaction over the enthusiastic participation and innovative spirit demonstrated by the students. The successful organization of Smart Solutions Exhibition 2.0 was carried out by a team comprising of Dr. Ankush Raina, President, Board of Professional Activities (BPA), Dr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq and Dr. Rohit Tanwar, whose dedicated efforts ensured smooth planning and execution of the exhibition.

The organizing team was strongly supported by an enthusiastic group of student coordinators including Savita Sharma, Sachin Tripathi, Tavneet Singh, Mukti, Shubham, Aryaveer, Ashish Ohri, Yash Shrivastava, Subah, Komal, Hridyanshu, Vanshika, and Himateja, whose active involvement in logistics, coordination, and management contributed significantly to the overall success of the event. The organizers also expressed heartfelt appreciation for all the student volunteers whose tireless efforts, commitment, and enthusiasm played a crucial role in the successful execution of the Smart Solutions Exhibition 2.0
