SMVDU Ph.D. Scholar Ms. Anshu Sharma Presents Research Work at International Conference ICABSB-2025 at IIT Roorkee

Ms. Anshu Sharma, Ph.D. Scholar, School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), presented poster entitled “Green Synthesis of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles using Carissa opaca Extract: Potential Applications in Wastewater Treatment, Antimicrobial Activity, and Agriculture” at the International Conference on Advances in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, and Structural Biology (ICABSB-2025) held from 11 to 14 December 2025 at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India in collaboration with Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Roorkee, and the Biotech Research Society, India (BRSI)

During her poster presentation, Ms. Sharma highlighted that Carissa opaca derived FeO-NPs constitute effective, sustainable nanomaterials with broad applications in environmental remediation, agriculture, and related fields. Ms. Sharma expressed sincere gratitude to her supervisor, Dr. Indu Bhushan, for her continuous mentorship, scientific guidance, and encouragement. She also acknowledged the support and research ecosystem provided by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, whose state-of-the-art facilities enabled the successful execution of this work. Furthermore, she extended respectful thanks to Prof. Pragati Kumar, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU, whose visionary leadership and commitment to research excellence continue to inspire scholars and foster a culture of innovation.

The conference was attended by approximately 500 students, of whom about 300 participated in poster presentations and the remaining 200 delivered oral presentations. This achievement underscores SMVDU’s growing contribution to front-line scientific research. SMVDU congratulates Ms. Anshu Sharma for representing the university on an international scientific platform and for her research with meaningful societal impact.
