The School of Mechanical Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), recently hosted a vibrant and inspiring alumni interaction session designed to broaden students’ understanding of industry practices, career pathways, and the technologies shaping the future of engineering.The session featured Mr. Parth Saathi, an alumnus of the B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering (Batch 2016), who has built an impressive career in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. He currently serves as the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Aigenthix, a technology startup known for its innovation in intelligent systems and automation solutions.Mr. Saathi engaged students with an open and insightful discussion about his journey. He shared experiences from his work in robotics, AI development, and R&D, helping students understand the skills, creativity, and problem-solving mindset required in emerging technologies. He also spoke about his global consultancy work with clients across Canada, Singapore, the USA, and the UK , illustrating the wide-ranging opportunities available in the AI domain. He further reflected on his contributions to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) sector in Delhi, where he works on automated and AI-enabled processes, and his experience with Maruti and Hyundai vehicle classes, highlighting how automation is transforming the automotive industry. Although his startup operates from Delhi, he currently works remotely from Bangalore, underscoring the flexibility and global nature of today’s tech workplaces.Throughout the interaction, he encouraged students to strengthen their foundations in AI, robotics, programming, and interdisciplinary technologies. His emphasis on hands-on learning, innovation, and staying aligned with industry trends resonated strongly with the students. His entrepreneurial journey offered valuable inspiration for those aspiring to enter the startup world or carve out unconventional career paths.The session was attended by faculty members and warmly appreciated by the department.
