The School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, organised a One-Day National Workshop on “Blockchain and Its Applications”. The event aimed to promote awareness and understanding of blockchain technology and its real-world applications. The workshop highlighted the growing significance of blockchain to redefine trust, transparency, and security across industries. The sessions featured with distinguished speakers, Dr. Sarada Prashad from IIT Jammu, who shared his expertise in blockchain systems, consensus mechanism and smart contracts, and Dr. Nisha Chaurasia, Assistant Professor at NIT Jalandhar, who took hands-on session on Blockchain implementation tools and its applications. The event concluded with a valedictory session, where Dr. Archana Purwar, SoCSE delivered the closing remarks and appreciated the efforts of the organizing team, student volunteers and participants to make the event successful. The students from B.Tech. (CSE/Mathematics and Computing), M.Tech.(Artificial Intelligence) and M.Sc. (Data Science) have participated in the workshop. The event was organised by Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Gupta (Organizing Secretary), Dr. Archana Purwar (Convener), Dr. Rohit Tanwar, and Dr. Vipal Kumar Sharma, with the support of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Dean Faculty of Engineering, HoD, School of Computer Science and Engineering, faculty members of CSE, and student coordinators. The workshop achieved its objective of making aware of blockchain technology with implementation tools, leaving participants inspired to explore the potential of blockchain in building secure and transparent digital systems.
