Students from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), visited the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, on 6th October 2025, and the Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL), Mohali on 7th October 2025 as part of their educational industrial visits.
During the visits, students gained valuable exposure to modern research facilities, advanced instrumentation systems, semiconductor fabrication processes, and clean-room operations. They interacted with scientists and engineers, enhancing their understanding of the practical applications of electronic design, sensor technologies, and semiconductor manufacturing.
The visits were organized under the supervision of Dr. Vikram Singh, Associate Professor, who coordinated the academic arrangements. Ms. Anshi Sharma served as the female caretaker, and Mr. Priyanshu Kumar as the student coordinator for the visit.
The Department expressed sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, and Head of the Department, Dr. Anil Kumar Bhardwaj, for their continuous support and encouragement in facilitating such industry–academia interactions.
The initiative provided students with a deeper insight into real-world engineering practices and motivated them to pursue innovation and research in emerging areas of electronics and communication.
