Hindi Pakhwada Samapan Samaroh and Prize Distribution Ceremony held at SMVDU

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, organized the Hindi Pakhwada Samapan Samaroh and Prize Distribution Ceremony on 30th September 2025 with great enthusiasm and fervor. The celebrations marked the conclusion of the fortnight-long Hindi Pakhwada (15th–30th September), which was observed across the University with various literary, cultural, and academic activities aimed at promoting the official language, Hindi. The valedictory session was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Prof. Kumar emphasized the significance of Hindi as a unifying language that bridges cultural diversity and fosters national integration. He highlighted the need to promote Hindi in research, administration, and day-to-day communication, in alignment with India’s knowledge traditions and contemporary aspirations. Dr. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, President, Hindi Cell and Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences (FoHSS), also addressed the gathering and underlined the importance of cultivating pride in Indian languages while encouraging students and staff to contribute to the enrichment of Hindi through scholarship and practice. Dr. Anurag Kumar, Nodal Officer (Hindi Cell), presented a detailed report of the activities conducted during the fortnight, which included competitions such as essay writing, poetry recitation, debate, extempore speech, slogan writing, and quiz. He applauded the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty, and staff members in making the celebration a grand success. On this occasion, the winners of various competitions were felicitated with certificates and prizes by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. The program also witnessed cultural performances by students, showcasing the richness of Hindi language and literature. In his vote of thanks, Dr. Kumar expressed gratitude to the University administration, Dr. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi, faculty coordinators, and student volunteers for their constant support. He also appreciated the efforts of Sushil Kushwaha, Student Secretary, Hindi Cell, and his team for successfully coordinating the event. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem. The event inspired the University fraternity to uphold the spirit of linguistic pride and cultural identity through Hindi.
