68th NASA Day Celebrated at SMVDU

The School of Architecture and Landscape Design (SoALD) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) celebrated the 68th NASA Day with great enthusiasm and creativity. The National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA India) is one of the largest student organizations in the world, connecting over 300 architecture colleges across India. It serves as a dynamic platform for learning, collaboration, and idea exchange through conventions, competitions, and workshops. This year’s celebration at SMVDU was themed “Living Memory: Wall of Expression”, emphasizing collective creativity and lasting impact. The event was organized under the guidance of Ar. Abhiney Gupta (Head, SoALD), Ar. Navin Gupta (Associate Head, SoALD), Ar. Vinod Kumar (NASA Faculty Coordinator), and with the active involvement of all faculty members and students of Unit Z124.

The day commenced with an orientation session for first-year students, introducing them to the legacy and vision of NASA India. The highlight of the celebration was a Wall Painting Activity at the department’s front entrance. Students collaborated to transform a blank wall into a vibrant mural—a symbolic representation of NASA’s 68th year. The artwork reflects the spirit of unity, imagination, and teamwork, serving as a “living memory” and a visual legacy for future batches. The faculty extended heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU, whose visionary leadership continues to propel the university toward excellence. This celebration not only fostered creativity and collaboration but also reinforced the culture of innovation and expression at SoALD.
