Katra, Sept 19: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) successfully hosted a Bootcamp through its Technology Business Incubation Centre (SMVDU-TBIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI). The event began with an address by Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO, SMVDU-TBIC, who provided an overview of the incubation center’s initiatives. This was followed by Prof. K. R. Jha, Vice Chairperson, SMVDU-TBIC, who highlighted the university’s efforts in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among youth.
Sh. Chand Kishore Sharma, Joint Director, JKEDI along with his team, Shri Zahid Ali Dar (Project Manager), Mr. Sorab Mengi (Assistant Manager), and Shri Abilash Kumar Braroo (DNO) shared insights into the various programs and policies undertaken by JKEDI to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. The Bootcamp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members of SMVDU and nearby institutions. Several innovative ideas were pitched by participants, which were evaluated by a panel of experts for shortlisting to the next round of the Startup Idea Challenge. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks to the authorities of SMVDU and JKEDI for their support in making the program a success. The Bootcamp not only provided a platform for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas but also motivated the youth to actively contribute to the region’s entrepreneurial landscape.
Extending his greetings, the Vice Chancellor of SMVDU congratulated the Managing Committee members and faculty coordinators of SMVDU-TBIC for organizing the initiative, emphasizing that such efforts are the need of the hour in nurturing innovation and startups.
