SMVDU Katra, April 2019. Students of B.Tech, 1st year, Mechanical Engineering from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, visited Chenab Textile Mills, Kathua. The visit was orgainsed by Mr. BK Bhatia, Training & Placement Officer, SMVDU, for giving field exposure in the latest technology to the students. Chenab Textile Mills is a unit of Birla Group of Industries, and it is the largest single automatic mill set up in Asia producing cotton yarn, textile yarn, dyed yarn, polyester yarn and acrylic yarn, and alike. A team of four faculty members: Dr. Balbir Singh, Er. Varun Dutta, Mr. Kewal Krishen and Mr. Chandan, accompanied students for assisting field learning. Dr. R.K. Mishra, HoD, School of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU is highly concerned about imparting maximum field exposures to students to update knowledge and prepare students for industry.
