Katra, 17 July 2025: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and the successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), has secured an “A” grade in the NPTEL Local Chapter Ranking for the Jan–May 2025 session. This prestigious recognition places SMVDU among the top 80–100 technical institutions in the country, reflecting its commitment to quality education and academic excellence.The award was received by Prof. Amit Kant Pandit, NPTEL SPOC, SMVDU, during the NPTEL North Zone SPOC Felicitation Workshop held at IIT Kanpur on 12th July 2025.Prof. Pandit lauded the dedicated efforts of faculty members and students who actively participated in NPTEL MOOCs and excelled in certification exams. He also expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the University administration towards NEP and online learning initiatives.
In addition to receiving the institutional “A” grade, Prof. Pandit was personally felicitated for his exceptional contribution and active engagement as SPOC of SMVDU’s NPTEL Chapter.
He further proposed new initiatives to expand MOOC-based learning in alignment with NEP 2020, aiming to enhance student outcomes and academic innovation. Prof. Pandit shared his vision of SMVDU becoming a top 20 (A+++) NPTEL Local Chapter in the near future.
This milestone signifies SMVDU’s growing academic footprint, the competence of its students, and the proactive role of faculty in fostering a vibrant learning ecosystem through digital education platforms.
