Distinguished Physicist addresses at SMVDU

SMVDU Katra, 12 September 2018. The School of Physics at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra organised two-day seminar lectures on 11-12 September 2018 where distinguished and renowned physicist, Prof. Ahluwalia, discussed neutrino oscillations in the context of gravitationally-induced phases, quantum entanglement, and large-scale magnetic fields produced by neutrinos. Notably, along with Christph Burgard, Prof. Ahluwalia’s work had been awarded 1st Prize by the Gravity Research Foundation in 1996. A graduate from New York and a doctorate from Texas, A&M university, Prof. Ahluwalia has been a leading figure in Physics, and has worked at various institutes, including Los Alamos National Laboratory, University of Zacatecas (Mexico), University of Canterbury in New Zealand, Unicamp in Brasil, IIT Kanpur, Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Jamia Millia Islamia, Institute of Physics (IOP, Bhuvneshwar), and a two-year long visiting professorship at IIT Guwahati. His lecture was greatly appreciated by the faculty members and research students, and they wished that such academicians should visit the university quite often. Prof. Sharma, HoD Physics, thanked the distinguished professor for his words of wisdom, and the two-day seminar concluded with a vote of thanks to eminent speaker.
