SMVDU Katra, 11thSept, 18. Following a tradition to invite renowned academicians to the university and with a commitment to impart quality education the School of Electronics and Communication (SoECE) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra organised a lecture by Padam Shree Prof. Ajaoy Kumar Ray, Professor IIT, Kharagpur. Prof. Ray had served in various reputed institutions and contributed a lot through his research work in electronics and computers. He had been the Director of Indian Institute of Science and Technology, Shivpur, and has more than six patents and long association with various research bodies and industry houses of International repute. During his lecture, he dealt with the history of wireless communication. He further deliberated on the topics of semiconductor technology and evolving fields of electronics and computers. He suggested various research areas to faculty members and students, and suggestedthem to prepare for the upcoming areas well in advance. During the interaction, the students also enquired about various technology and its future outcome. The event was conducted by MrRatandeep Sharma, a student of final year SoECE, whereas Dr. Amit Kant Pandit welcomed Prof. Ray and presented him a memento. Dr. K. R. Jha, HoD, SoECE, speaking on the occasion,briefed that the university is committed to provide conducive educative atmosphere to students.
