SMVDU: The Institute Innovation Council (IIC) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organized an online session for students and faculty members on the topic of “Innovation and Start-up Ecosystem.” The session was delivered by Mr. Kuldip Suri, Retired GM of Power Grid Corporation of India and currently associated with IndiGrid.
Mr. Suri shared his extensive management and leadership experience, emphasizing the importance of mentoring in leading teams of qualified engineers. He discussed various engineering aspects and the significance of innovation and start-ups in the power sector. Throughout his presentation, Mr. Suri cited numerous examples to illustrate that successful innovations must go through different phases, highlighting their role in driving economic growth and development.
The session was coordinated by Dr. Sanjeev Anand, Convener of the Institute Innovation Council at SMVDU, who briefed attendees on the council’s activities and the importance of such initiatives. Prof. Ashutosh Vaishshtha, President of IIC and Dean of the Faculty of Management at SMVDU, welcomed the participants and provided an overview of the IIC’s business, innovation, and start-up activities within the university.
The event aimed to promote entrepreneurship, encourage innovation, and create a supportive ecosystem for start-ups in the region. The IIC expressed gratitude to Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, for his continuous support in fostering such initiatives. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Yatheshth Anand and Dr. Vineet Tyagi, Nodal Officer of IPMSC and Dean of R&D, respectively.
