ECE Students of SMVDU gain Valuable Insights on Semiconductor Technology and Defence Testing Procedures during Industrial Visit

A group of 28 Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) students from the 2021 batch of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) recently concluded a comprehensive industrial visit to Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) Mohali and DRDO TBRL Chandigarh. This enlightening visit provided the students with a unique opportunity to delve into the intricate world of semiconductor technology and critical defense testing procedures. At SCL Mohali, the students immersed themselves in the detailed workings of the Semiconductor Laboratory, gaining invaluable insights into the various stages of IC and MEMS device fabrication and testing. The visit to DRDO TBRL Chandigarh further expanded the students’ understanding by showcasing the diverse departments responsible for the various critical technologies developed by ISRO and other DRDO labs. This exposure ignited a passion for contributing to the nation’s technical progress, the visit’s significant highlight was the guidance provided on securing internship and job opportunities within these prestigious organizations. This empowered the students to navigate their career paths effectively and contribute meaningfully to India’s technical development. These institutions emphasized the pivotal role that academia can play in fostering innovation and self-reliance by working on technologies crucial for the rapid development of the country. The students returned from the industrial visit brimming with newfound knowledge and motivation, acknowledging the insightful organization by Dr. Vikram Singh and Dr. Neeraj Tripathi, which made the experience truly enriching. Special thanks are extended to the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Registrar, Sh.
