Ms. Chitrakshi Chopra, Scholar at the School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), received the best oral presentation award at the International Conference on Recent Trends in Biomedical Sciences (RTBS-2023), organized by the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Lovely Professional University, Punjab. The conference aimed to promote, encourage, and bring together researchers, scientists, pathologists, and medical service providers to share knowledge and recent advances made in their respective fields. Ms. Chopra, working under the supervision of Dr. Indu Bhushan, Faculty, SMVDU presented a paper titled “Microbial Communities in Women’s Reproductive Health: Insights into Vaginal Microbiota and Implications for Well-being,” co-authored by Ms. Malvika Mehta, Mr. Pankaj Suden, and Dr. Indu Bhushan. The research aimed to provide insight into the role of vaginal microbiome in various stages of life in females. The study also emphasized the significance of microbiota-targeted interventions that aim to optimize the composition of the healthy microbiome and shed light on the importance of translational investigations in this field. The experts at the conference appreciated the work carried out by Ms. Chopra. More than 200 papers were presented by the participants coming from different countries.
