SMVDU, M.Tech. Students visited Dabur Group and Shuvam Industries

One day industrial visit has been organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU for imparting technical exposure to students of 1st and 2nd year, M.Tech (Manufacturing and Automation) under supervision of team of faculty members headed by Dr. Balbir Singh, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU. In Dabur group, Bari Brahmana Jammu, students experienced the automation of plant and the live functioning of various stages in the processing of products such as Hajmola, Odomos, FEM skin cream, Odonil, Gulabari etc. Pure mechanical working in fabrication of wire mesh, crate wire are observed by students to get practical exposure of wire drawing, bending, wire knitting etc. in Shuvam industries, Industrial Estate, Digiana, Jammu. M.Tech also exchanged views with the technical team of the Dabur Group. It is pertinent to mention that Technical team/expert of the Dabur Group briefing about the mechanical process for the production of the products to the University Students. However, M.Tech students expressed the strong desire for arranging similar kind of visit to the other industries as well. Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, Prof Sanjeev jain assured the student for arranging the industrial visit with in the State and outside the State so that Student could get best exposure to the Automation field.
