Awareness programme on “Cyber Jaagrookta” Conducted by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University

An awareness programme on “Cyber Jaagrookta” was conducted in the nearby villages of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, by School of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The team visited Chak Bhagta, Sirah, and Dheerti for this awareness programme. The key objective of the programme was to spread awareness and possible safety measures against cyber-fraud. The programme coordinator, Dr. Sachin Kumar Gupta, Faculty, SoECE, SMVDU told the reasons and causes of cyber fraud. The workshop coordinator, Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Faculty, SoECE, SMVDU, focused on the importance of such events for the benefit of society in the context of the rapid growth of online activities. Dr. Sumeet Gupta, Faculty, SoECE, SMVDU, suggested the genuine use of the mobile phone. The programme coordinators provided a thorough understanding of cyber-crime in respect of the social responsibility of the University and as per the initiative of the Government of India.
