NSS Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region, organised a workshop on “First Aid Training” in which around hundred NSS volunteers participated. The training session was conducted by Dr. Shelly Mahajan of Indian Red Cross Society in which she briefed about the basic characteristics of a first aider and discussed various scenarios, like injury due to an accident, heart attack, snake bite, heat stroke, etc. Demonstration of CPR was conducted, that was practised by the NSS volunteers. Dr. Mahajan emphasized do’s and dont’s of the first aid.
Mr. Kiran Kumar, Teacher, Air Force School, Jammu, and 4 times national awardee also delivered a guest lecture, and motivated students to join higher level training programs on first aid. Ms Vishally , an NSS volunteer, presented the vote of thanks. Dr. Rajiv Kumar, NSS Programme Coordinator, was also present during the session. Vice Chancellor, Prof. R.K. Sinha, congratulated the NSS team for organizing the event
