The School of Mechanical Engineering of SMVD University in collaboration with the Center for Invention, Invention, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) Govt. Polytechnic Jammu conducted a two-day workshop on electric vehicles. The objective of the workshop was to provide a unique opportunity to participants about the working of electric vehicles, the design of motors and batteries and the application of power electronics. Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Sinha, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU was the patron and Principal of Government Polytechnic Jammu, Er. Arun Bangotra and Prof. Muthusamy, Head, of SoME, SMVDU, were the program’s chairman. The workshop was conducted in four sessions over two days comprising of theory and designing the components. Dr Sanjay Sharma, Convener of the workshop, talked about the current scenario of the auto sector and the importance of the involvement of students in such workshops. Er. Deepak Byotra, organizing secretary of the program appreciated the efforts of Sh. Sandeep Nimbalkar, Project Coordinator, TATA Technologies, and all other subject matter experts of TATA technologies to conduct the latest technology-related workshop on electric vehicles. During the workshop 50 faculty, staff and students at various institutes like DAV Jalandhar, HKM Haryana, SMVD University, YCET, GCET Jammu and Government Polytechnic Jammu participated.
