Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) at SMVD University, along with the Regional Centre of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) New Delhi, organized a webinar on “The sacred art and Architecture of Jammu & Kashmir and Tamil Nadu”.The first speaker, Ms. S. Logamani (a teacher and an author), gave an exhaustive account of the sacred history, culture, festivals, rituals, traditions related to the Meenakshi temple and nearby places. Next, Ms. Varunanani (District Coordinator, TNSF), presented on Thanjavur’s Brihadeeswara Temple. She discussed the architectural ambiance, techniques, and mystical techniques by then artisans for building such astonishing buildings
Shri Manikandan G. (an artist, poet, and singer) presented on the Rameshwaram Temple, also known as Ramanath Swamy Temple. In his reminiscent account, he expressed the greatness of Ramanathaswamy Temple, which is one of the jyotirlingas from South India.In the concluding lecture, Dr. Virendra Bangroo, traced the origin and greatness of Avantiswamin Temple. He distinguished between north and south architecture and then described the beauty and grandeur of Avantiswamin Temple, which was excavated and restored. Shri Sumanta S. Sharma (Faculty Coordinator, EBSB, SMVDU) moderated the webinar and delivered the vote of thanks to all speakers, participants, and administration.
