UG and PG Students of SMVDU participated in the Foundation Day Celebration of CSIR-IIIM, Jammu

The 82^nd Foundation Day of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), was celebrated on 9^th October 2023 at CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu. On this Occasion an exhibition cum poster presentation session for scholars and start-ups was organized. The event also marked as an open day to all the school and college students in which 60 sstudents from B.Sc. and M.Sc. Biotechnology from the School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra participated. They were accompanied by Dr. Indu Bhushan, Dr. Raju Shankarayan, and Er Arvind Yadav .The students visited the various labs of the institute and interacted with expert scientists and research scholars and were briefed on the ongoing research at the Institute in different disciplines of Plant Biotechnology, Cancer Pharmacology, Instrumentation and Infectious Disease Section etc. The students also interacted with two alumni from the School of Biotechnology, SMVDU, Dr. Gurleen Kour, Scientist in Pharmacology Division and Dr. Rashmi Sharma, Scientist in Infectious Diseases Division at IIM-Jammu. The visit was organized and managed by Dr. Asha Chaubey, Senior Scientist and Chairperson, Students Visit Committee at IIIM Jammu in collaboration with the Head, School of Biotechnology, Dr. Ratna Chandra. The Honourable Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Prof. Pragati Kumar appreciated the efforts on both sides and encouraged the faculty and students to visits such institutes quite often.
