Two-Day Seminar on Sustainable Building Materials with a Futuristic Approach held at SMVDU

The School of Architecture and Landscape Design (SoALD) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) hosted a comprehensive seminar on Sustainable Building Materials with a Futuristic Approach in collaboration with MMTTC SMVDU from the 23rd to the 24th January 2024. The event aimed to delve into emerging trends and practices in construction materials that prioritize sustainability and innovation. The inaugural address was delivered by Ar. Navin Gupta, Convenor of the seminar, who extended a warm welcome to esteemed guests, including Prof. Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, and Ar. A.K Singh, Head of SoALD. Additionally, the event was graced by resource persons from industry such as 3M, Asahi India Limited, and Rehau, who shared invaluable insights into sustainable building materials and their applications. The seminar served as a crucial learning platform for the students of Architecture at SMVDU, providing them with a deeper understanding of sustainable practices and cutting-edge technologies in the field of construction. In his address, Prof. Pragati Kumar emphasized the significance of such seminars in enriching students’ learning experiences and encouraged the School of Architecture to organize similar events in the future. The Vote of Thanks was extended by Ar. Abhiney Gupta, the Organizing Secretary, acknowledging the contributions of all participants and supporters. The presence of Prof. Suparn Sharma, Director of DQAC SMVDU, added to the significance of the event, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and innovation in the field of architecture. The seminar underscored SMVDU’s dedication to providing its students with practical knowledge and exposure to contemporary practices, ensuring their readiness to address the challenges of tomorrow’s built environment.
