Prof. R.S. Misra, Ex-Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, SMVDU, was the special invitee on the day. On this occasion, the School organized a discussion on the ideas of Socrates’ grand disciple Aristotle (c. 384–322 BCE). Dr. Anil Tewari, Head of the School, welcomed all the invitees and participants.
The discuss was initiated by Sh. Sumanta Sarathi Sharma, Asst. Prof., School of Philosophy & Culture. The participants of the discussion included Prof. Misra, Dr. Tewari, Dr. M.M. Chaturvedi, Dr. Simran Raina, and a B. Tech student Ms. Sagun Gupta. The other participants belonged to various Schools of the University.
It is conspicuous that in the Year 2002, the UNESCO declared that every 3rd Thursday of November month be celebrated as World Philosophy Day.
The day is speculative birth anniversary of the Greek philosopher Socrates (c. 470 – 399 BCE).
The event continued from 19:30 – 21:30 and concluded with a vote of thanks.
