SMVDU: SMVDU-TBIC Participates in One-Day Workshop on Semiconductors & AI at JKEDI on 10th Feb. 2025

Bari Brahmna, February 10, 2025: SMVDU-TBIC recently participated in a one-day workshop on Semiconductors & Artificial Intelligence, held at JKEDI, Bari Brahmna, Jammu. The event was attended by Business Manager Ms. Divye Duheta Mahajan, along with students from various disciplines of SMVDU.

The workshop featured insightful discussions, with Dr. M.J. Zarabi, Co-founder of Masamb Electronics Systems and Honorary Advisor to the India Semiconductor Association, sharing his pioneering work in VLSI design and semiconductor fabrication in India. He highlighted key advancements at Semiconductor Complex Ltd. (SCL) since its inception in 1976, such as the transition from next-gen 3-micron to 0.28-micron technology, the development of night vision components, and DRDO’s Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC). Dr. Zarabi emphasized India’s growing interest in compound semiconductor technology as a driver for future innovation.

Mr. Susheel Jalali, COO of R&Z Technologies LLP, discussed the significance of design-led ESDM (Electronics System Design & Manufacturing) and AI, while Dr. B.L. Raina, Advisor & Head of Education Program Development at IBM & Datagami, provided valuable insights into emerging industry trends.

The event served as an eye-opener for participants, inspiring them to explore career opportunities in semiconductor design and AI-driven technologies. The delegation also gained a deeper understanding of the Government of India’s initiatives in advancing semiconductor design and manufacturing.
