Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University celebrated Janmashtami festival

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival on campus. The event was organised by the students of SMVDU in Trikuta hostel in the campus premise. The chief guest of the event was Vice Chancellor, SMVDU Prof. Pragati Kumar. The event started with the pujan of lord Krishna followed by Aarti. The venue was beautifully decorated with colorful flowers, and traditional motifs. A special cradle was prepared to place the idol of Shri Krishna. The most amusing part of the event was the “Dahi Handi” competition which began right after the Pooja wherein 6 teams took part with great enthusiasm and the winning team was rewarded. The celebrations ended with the distribution of Prasadam. The Janmashtami celebrations at the campus was a grand success, filled with devotion, spirituality and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The event was very well coordinated by student coordinator Chetan. Dean Students Welfare, Dr. R. K. Mishra, Dean Faculty of Engineering, Dr. K. R. Jha were also present along with other faculty and staff members.
