In view of celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence, ‘Bharat Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, and on the eve of World Kindness Day, School of Business, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, organized a webinar on “Respect and Dignity at Workplace” on 13th November 2021. Deliberating on the importance of respect and dignity at the workplace, eminent resource person, Prof. (Dr.) Usha Lenka, HoD, Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee, emphasized becoming empathetic and considerate to each other.
During the webinar, Mr. Ronak Sedani, GM of Virgo Group of Hotels, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, shared his practical experiences of witnessing incidents of empowering people through respect and dignity which he emphasized as to be the cornerstone of trust and relationship at the workplace. Ms. Vineeta Koul Lalotra, Director, Pragmatic Career Solutions, Pune, Maharashtra talked about ‘Incivility at Workplace’ and various ways of handling it. She underlined the importance of ‘Respect and Dignity as an antidote of incivility.
Dr. Anil K. Tewari, the convener of ‘Bharat Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’, also laid emphasis on having compassion for each other. Dr. Saurabh, HoD, School of Business, called upon all the students to exercise respect for each other and be kinder to one and all. In the end, Dr. Arti Maini and Dr. Rashi Taggar, the webinar coordinators, gave a formal vote of thanks and asked everyone to celebrate ‘World Kindness Day’ by taking a pledge to be kind to each other, to self and to the world at large.
