SMVDU Katra, FEB 2020. Prof. Jinesh Jain, National Energy Technology Laboratory, Pittsburg, USA delivered a lecture on “Development of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) Sensor for Subsurface Water Quality Monitoring” at the School of Physics (SoP), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. Prof. Jain explained how to develop a LIBS based sensor for subsurface water quality monitoring. He covered all the aspects and basic details of LIBS technique that are currently being used to monitor the toxic pollutants in the environment, and underground water well. Dr. Vivek K. Singh, Faculty, SoP, coordinated the event, and Dr. Kamni presented a vote of thanks. At the onset, the Head of the School welcomed the professor, and presented him with a memento. The faculty members and students attended the interactive session.
