NSS SMVD University in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Eco-Watch (JKEW) under the flagship project, “Go Green Katra” organised a plantation drive on 25th of August 2022 in which 100 saplings were planted during the drive. The event started with an awareness rally by the NSS volunteers in the campus area. Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, Prof. Ravinder Kumar Sinha was the chief guest of the event. Mainly medicinal and hybrid fruit bearing saplings planted at multiple locations in the campus residential area. NSS volunteers actively participated in the event. Registrar, SMVDU, Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Deans, Heads, Administrative Officer Vinod Sharma, faculty members and Security Officer were also present during the event. Dr. Rajiv Kumar NSS Programme Coordinator and Mr. Dheeraj Thapa Project Director, Go Green Katra, thanked all the participants and University authorities for supporting the plantation drive.
