The Inaugural session of a one-week online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Incorporating Universal Human Values in Education” from 18-22 August 2021 was held today at 10:30 AM. The FDP is being organized by the Faculty Development Center (FDC), approved under PMMMNMTT scheme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi, in collaboration with the School of Philosophy & Culture (SoPC) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU).
The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Mr. Sumanta Sarathi Sharma, I/C Head SoPC and Convener of the FDP. Chief-Guest of the program Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Bhat, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, highlighted the role of human values in the betterment of personal and social life. He emphasized that human values are an essential part of our life.
Further, for the development of human values in persons, their family, education, and environment play an important role and should not be ignored. Dr. Anil Kumar Tewari, Asst. Prof., SoPC and Organizing Secretary of the FDP delivered the vote of thanks.The sessions of the FDP will be conducted by faculty of SoPC, SMVDU and Mr. Sanjeev Chopra, Member, Cell for Human Values and Transformative Learning, SCERT, Delhi. The participants of the FDP are teachers of schools, colleges and universities from across India and faculty of SMVDU.
