One Day Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development organized at SMVDU

One day workshop entitled ‘Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career opportunities’ was held at School of Business, SMVD University. The event was organised under the umbrella of National Innovation and Start-Up Policy and Institution’s Innovation Council, SMVDU with participants from the various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. During the inaugural function of the prestigious workshop, Dr. Ashutosh Vashisth, Dean, Faculty of Management and CEO TBIC SMVDU emphasized the role of innovation practices. Dr. Supran Kumar Sharma, Director, Directorate Quality Assurance Cell, SMVDU and Chief Coordinator, EDC-SMVDU highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial culture. Dr. Deepak Jain, Coordinator of the event discussed identifying business opportunities. Two successful entrepreneurs, Mr. Amit Kumar Pandotra and Mr. Abhinav Sharma with their startups named LeharUP and SatyamKetu, respectively shared their experiences and addressed queries of students. Mr. Abhinav highlighted how he started his wild honey venture under the name SatyamKetu and emphasized the importance of digital marketing in the next one decade. Mr. Amit discussed the importance of tourism in our state economy and how he is expanding his brand LeharUp.  A panel discussion on the topic ‘Entrepreneurship –Issues and Challenges’ was also held with student panelists, two entrepreneurs and two faculty members from school of Business, SMVDU, Dr. Rashi Taggar and Dr. Syeda Shazia Bukhari. Dr. Rashi emphasized that entrepreneurs should focus on sustainable practices. Dr. Shazia highlighted the role of startups in our national economy. Dr. Deepak Jain delivered a vote of thanks and coordinated the event.
