National Level Training Program commences at SMVDU

NEP 2020 Orientation & Sensitization Program inaugurated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra. The eight days program is being organized by the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC)-SMVU for faculty members from different nooks and corners of the country. The aim is to improve the quality of education at all levels by infusing quality and excellence among teachers and teaching. The participating faculty members will get training into a comprehensive perspective and all-encompassing framework for higher education in the country. The suggested system is based on Indian traditions and value systems, as well as the intended outcomes of 21st century education, such as the sustainable development goals, holistic development, etc.

Earlier, the Inaugural address was delivered by the Chief Guest of the event, Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU and dwelt upon the role of NEP-2020 which provides valuable insights and recommendations on various aspects of education that include moving towards multidisciplinary and holistic education, institutional autonomy, promotion of quality research through establishment of National Research Foundation, continuous professional upliftment etc.  Prof. Supran Kumar Sharma, Director, MMTTC-SMVDU dwelt upon the necessity of sensitizing faculty members in realizing their instrumental  role in futuristic institution building in the Indian education ecosystem on higher education changes that will prepare the next generation to prosper and compete in the digital age. He also spoke about aspects for redesigning the higher education ecosystem as envisaged by NEP 2020 that requires strengthening the role of the Faculty. The program was conducted by Dr. Sunanda, wherein, Dr. Sharada Potukuchi introduced the participants about the facilities available at the University, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Ankush Anand. The event spreads over 8 days and shall include 16 Technical Sessions. The invited speakers have been specifically selected from various institutions of the country to enunciate the need for imparting training and skills to Faculty Members for the smooth and successful implementation of NEP-2020 across the country. The event is truly national in character as the participants are from different universities including Delhi University, Manipur University, Chandigarh University, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Cluster University, Srinagar, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, Guru Jambheshvar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. etc.
