Institute`s Innovation Council (IIC), SMVD University, organized an online session for students and faculty members on Intellectual Property Rights in which Dr. Rahul Taneja, Scientist, Patent Information Centre, Haryana State Council for Science & Technology, Panchkula, briefed the students about Intellectual Property Rights during the online session.
Dr. Taneja stressed upon the need of Intellectual Property Rights in the present scenario. During his address, he dwelt in detail on kinds of IPRs, poor status of patents in the Indian scientific community and world patent statistics.He presented an overview of IPR, types of IPRs, legislative framework in India, and introduction to the patent law.Earlier, Prof. E Muthusamy, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, SMVDU welcomed students, faculty, and the resource person, while emphasizing the importance of Intellectual Property Rights and highlighting the need to spread their awareness and promotion.Dr. Sanjeev Anand, Innovation Activity Coordinator, SMVD University, coordinated the session. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vineet Tyagi, I/C Head, School of Energy Management, SMVDU.
