ICMR-CAR, School of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University-a multinsitutional centre (University of Jammu, Central University of Jammu, University of Kashmir) started four-week online capacity building training programme from 4th January 2021 to 6th Feb 2021. The main goal of this program is to draw kind attention towards the fact that reproductive health issues like Infertility, PCOS, Gynaecological and Urological Problems are increasing alarmingly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Online lecture and training sessions about emerging reproductive health problems faced by patients from UT of Jammu and Kashmir were deliberated by various Faculties like Prof. Rima Dada from AIIMS New Delhi. Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Sharada M Potukuchi and Dr. Sandeep Bhougal from SMVDU, Dr. Arnab Banerje from BITS, Pilani. In addition, Dr. Chitra Pahwa, Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Dr. Archana Bhat, Ms. Pushpa Oraon, Dr. Rakesh Raina, Dr. Audesh Bhat, Dr. Ruchi Shah and Dr. Amrita Bhat also threw light on various issues related to reproductive health. They also stressed on continued evaluation of metabolic disorder and its impact upon perinatal and maternal care and outcomes. Prof. Dada’s talk on Yoga and Dr. Raina’s lecture on oral pathology and male reproductive health were interesting and opened all new areas of research in the field.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar acknowledged the staff of (ICMR-CAR) Dr. Sonali Verma (Scientist B), Dr. Gresh Chander (Scientist B), Ms. Deepika, Ms. Shrutika, Mrs Namrata and Mr. Rajeshwar for being backbone of lab and appreciated their skills in organising of this programme. More than 200 participants from various colleges and hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir registered for same. Despite bad weather and sloppy internet connection, participants were enthusiastic and fully participated in the programme.
The second week of the programme will start from 18th Jan 21. Dr. Kumar in the concluding session thanked principal investigators of the centre and expressed his gratitude to Prof. R.K Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, for his continuous support and motivation
