Vikalp organized Village Outreach Programme

Vikalp (a students’ initiative to impart education to the destitute) and NSS volunteers joined forces for the first large-scale village outreach program of this semester, wherein 20 volunteers from each organization participated. Their mission was to directly engage with residents, enlighten them about Vikalp’s initiatives, and address their inquiries.Departing from the Medical Aid Centre of SMVDU, the teams split into two groups, covering areas such as Sirah Colony, Sool, Kakryal, and Dheerti. One group walked towards the CRPF camp (3 km) in the direction of Domel, while the other group proceeded to the Shiv Mandir (4 km) towards Panthal. With dedication, the teams visited approximately 75 to 80 households, reinforcing Vikalp’s commitment to providing quality education. Some queries raised by the residents regarding the Vikalp were proficiently dealt with by the volunteers. Notably, the enthusiasm and diligence of NSS volunteers greatly contributed to the program’s success. Plans include similar outreach endeavours to further extend Vikalp’s impact in the nearby areas and empower more disadvantaged students by providing them with a better future. Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Program Coordinator NSS, and Shri Sumanta Sarathi Sharma, Faculty Coordinator Vikalp, applauded the efforts of the volunteers.
