NICMAR Delhi-NCR, an AICTE-approved premier Construction Business School, in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), successfully organized a webinar titled “Transition from Technical Roles to Managerial Leadership in the CRIP & Built Environment Sector.” The session was aimed at final-year students of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, aspiring to build leadership-oriented careers in the construction, real estate, infrastructure, and built environment domains.
Prof. (Dr.) Amit Goel, an experienced researcher with over 20 years in the field, delivered an expert talk. He holds degrees from PEC Chandigarh and a Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur, having worked at BITS Pilani, IIT Gandhinagar, NTU Singapore, and BAM Berlin. His areas of expertise include Road Asset Management and robotic evaluation.
During the webinar, Dr. Goel emphasized the increasing need for engineering graduates to develop managerial skills to progress into leadership roles within the built environment sector. He shared insights on essential managerial competencies, real-world industry challenges, leadership pathways, and future opportunities for young engineers transitioning from technical to strategic positions.
Students from Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering disciplines actively participated and interacted with the speaker, seeking guidance on career planning, higher education pathways, and industry expectations.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Bharat Bhushan Jindal, Associate Professor (School of Civil Engineering), Dr. Amit Sinha, Assistant Professor (School of Mechanical Engineering), and Dr. Kamaldeep, Assistant Professor (School of Electrical Engineering). Dr. Jindal thanked the Heads of Schools, NICMAR, and SMVDU for supporting this collaboration and acclaimed Dr. Amit Goel for his insightful session.
