TARANG, the Electronics Society of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), organised an enriching session on VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) on 18th November in Room C-111, aimed at introducing students to the fundamentals of semiconductor technology and the rapidly expanding opportunities in the chip design industry.
The session was conducted by the VLSI Chapter Leads — Harsh Mishra, Shrikant Jha, and Karthik — who explained the essentials of modern integrated circuit development, digital design flow, and current trends shaping the global semiconductor sector. Students from various branches attended the event, gaining valuable insights into one of the fastest-growing tech fields and learning about career opportunities in the semiconductor industry.
The event was coordinated under the leadership of TARANG Coordinators Anubhav Shukla and Saksham Bhardwaj, whose efforts ensured smooth organisation and student engagement throughout the session.
TARANG extended its gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, for her continued encouragement toward technical skill development. The society also acknowledged the support of Faculty Coordinator Dr. Vikram Singh and Head of the School of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Dr. Anil Bhardwaj, whose guidance was instrumental in the successful execution of the session.
The initiative further strengthened SMVDU’s commitment to preparing students for emerging technological domains by promoting hands-on learning and industry-oriented exposure.
The society plans to conduct more such knowledge-enriching and skill-oriented sessions to inspire students and strengthen the culture of innovation at SMVDU.
