SMVDU TBIC Awarded ₹50 Lakh Funding at Idea to Impact Startup Mela

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) marked a significant presence at Idea to Impact – Annual Startup Mela, a mega startup event organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Jammu. The University delegation was led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Pragati Kumar and included Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO SMVDU TBIC, Mr. B. K. Bhatia, Training and Placement Officer, and Ms. Divye Duheta Mahajan, Manager SMVDU TBIC.
The event celebrated innovation and entrepreneurship, with awards being conferred upon promising startups and incubators for their contributions to the evolving startup ecosystem. SMVDU TBIC, which had earlier pitched for financial support, was awarded funding of Rs.50 lakhs during the event to strengthen its incubation activities and support emerging ventures. The funding was presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, marking a major milestone for the SMVDU incubation ecosystem.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Pragati Kumar expressed heartfelt gratitude to JKEDI for its continued support. He especially acknowledged the guidance and encouragement extended by Commissioner/Secretary Mr. Vikramjit Singh, IPS, and Director JKEDI Mr. Khalid Jahangir along with their team for fostering a strong culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the Union Territory. The participation and recognition at the event reaffirm SMVDU TBIC’s growing role in nurturing startups and contributing to the region’s innovation-driven economic development.
