SMVDU: SMVDU, February 19, 2025 – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Technology Business Incubation Centre (SMVDU-TBIC) in collaboration with School of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU successfully organized an awareness session for students, highlighting key government schemes for entrepreneurship and innovation. The event aimed to educate students on the various opportunities available through government initiatives to foster entrepreneurial growth and self-reliance.
The session was initiated by Dr.Sanjay Mohan, CEO of SMVDU-TBIC, who underscored the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in today’s evolving economic landscape. Following this, Mr. Abilash Kumar, an Official from the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), took the stage to elaborate on the various schemes available to students and aspiring entrepreneurs in the region. He provided insights into the workings of JKEDI and how students can leverage government programs to transform their innovative ideas into viable businesses. Mr. Kumar detailed key schemes such as startup funding, financial assistance for young entrepreneurs, and skill development programs tailored to help students navigate the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey. He emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a robust startup ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir and encouraged students to explore the resources available to them.
Adding to the discussion, Ms. Divye Duheta Mahajan, Business Manager at SMVDU-TBIC, elaborated on how TBIC has been helping students in the region to reach out to these schemes since 2015. She highlighted the incubator’s role in providing mentorship, funding access, and networking opportunities to budding entrepreneurs.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, who actively engaged with the speakers through interactive discussions and queries. Many expressed keen interest in exploring startup ventures with the support of JKEDI and TBIC. The session was also attended by Dr.Vineet Tyagi, Associate Professor, School of Physics and Dr.Sanjeev Anand, Associate Professor, School of Energy Management.
At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO of SMVDU-TBIC, along with Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering, thanked Mr. Abilash Kumar for his valuable time and insightful presentation, which enlightened the gathering about the latest developments in the startup world.
